SO2634 : Valley of secrets
near to Craswall, Herefordshire, Great Britain

Valley of secrets
Some historical secrets of this scene may be revealed soon by archaeological studies. The near part of the valley has very old mounds which marked field edges long ago. There are levelled areas which could be the sites for buildings and some bits of built walls might be remains of lime kilns. Paths are seen here and there; more marked than mere sheep paths.
The pale looking, relatively flat area in the middle distance is the highest field which has a modern fence to enclose it. The fence has been placed along the line of a mound which might have been a wall long ago.
