This was the second night's camp on a three day trip from Tayvallich round the peninsula into the Sound of Jura and back up the coast to Carsaig. The weather was perfect, the wildlife fantastic, but landing on the island in the centre of the view (Leth Sgeir) proved difficult with loaded kayaks, so we camped on this isolated spot on the mainland (we'd been trying to avoid this as it was during the Foot and Mouth epidemic, but fortunately there were no livestock anywhere nearby). This was my first multiday sea kayaking trip, and the location was very educational - despite the windless calm, the sea moves at considerable speed with some interesting tides in the Sound of Jura.
