Jackson's Bakery, Hull
Jackson's Bakery, Hull
The entrance to the huge bakery site at No.40 Derringham Street, looking west from the corner of Morton Street. Jackson's started in 1851 when the company's founder William Jackson opened a small grocers shop on Scale Lane, Hull. The business developed to include a large chain of supermarkets and convenience stores which were eventually taken over by Sainsbury's in 2004. Jackson's now concentrate most of their efforts on food production rather than retail.
