Fishing on the Whitchurch Arm
The Whitchurch Arm of the Llangollen branch of the Shropshire Union opened in 1811 and stretched from New Mills to Castle Well near the town centre. Restoration of the first 400 metres, to Chemistry Bridge, was completed in 1993 and now provides long-term moorings. The area is popular for walking, cycling and fishing. This view is from near the New Mills lift bridge. For more details, see Link
