St Michael's Church, Baddiley: chancel
St Michael's Church, Baddiley: chancel
The grade-I-listed church dates from 1308, and is one of the very few remaining timber-framed churches in England (see SJ6050 : St Michael's Church, Baddiley). The half-timbering is still visible from the exterior on the chancel, with brick-nogged close studding without a middle rail, resting on a sandstone plinth. The south side of the chancel has a Gothic-headed door and a pair of mullion windows
