High Seat or hide for deer shooting
This is a hide for deer shooting; usually roe deer but not always in this area. They are referred to as "high seats" and can be anything from a simple seat in a tree to the elaborate structures in these photos. They are often used in areas where visitor pressure may mean that it is safer to shoot from an elevated position so that the bullet trajectory is always down towards the ground (reducing the risk of the bullet accidentally hitting one of those stray walkers at some distance from the shooter). High seats are very popular on the continent but some local foresters do not like them.
