TQ5104 : Comp Lane
near to Alfriston, East Sussex, Great Britain

Comp Lane
The former medieval main road between Alfriston and Lewes which ran along the foot of the Downs. Not surprisingly the track was virtually impassable in winter and was eventually replaced by a new turnpike which is currently the A27. The track is well gravelled until it gets to the now converted Comp Barn then it resumes its medieval state. This view looks north with Comp Barn just over the brow to the left.
