Bradway Tunnel Air Shaft
Bradway Tunnel Air Shaft
The air shaft for Bradway Tunnel. The tunnel provided the Midland Railway with a shorter route South to London, via Chesterfield when it opened the Midland Station (then called Pond Street Station) in 1870. The earlier route to London went North via Rotherham, from the Wicker Station.
