Great Lodge Reservoir (disused)
Great Lodge Reservoir (disused)
In the middle distance, framed by the stone gate posts, is the site of the former Great Lodge Reservoir. It is now empty and has re-vegetated. It is shown and is named on the 1940s OS map; it is shown but unnamed on the 1/50,000 map; and has disappeared altogether from the 1/25,000 map. It used to belong to the Heywood and Middleton Water Board. View looking south east.
