Early electric multiple units at Rugby
Early electric multiple units at Rugby
These three trains were photographed in 1985 but all date from the 1960s when the London Midland main lines were first electrified, and are long since withdrawn from service.

The one at the left is class 303, which spent most of their life in Glasgow but by the 80s were used in England (this one, 303062, sports a Greater Manchester PTE logo). The middle and right-hand ones are class 310, used principally on services in the West Midlands and for stopping services between Birmingham and London.
