Roadside Car Park, Ashridge (near Aldbury)
This car park, approached from Aldbury via Tom's Hill Road, provides a base for many woodland walks. The “P” on the map is misleading . When we were visiting Ashridge in the 1970s and 1980s there was a much larger area, extending eastwards which had never been surfaced – and became heavily rutted. More recently the end nearest the grid line has been resurfaced and the rest is reverting to a more natural state.
