South face of Ruabon Mountain
The lower slopes of the south face of Ruabon Mountain are a mixture of bracken, heather, grass and occasional birches and other trees, with scree and boulder fields. In this view broadly westwards from the footpath from the monument to I.D. Hooson, Trevor Hall Wood is on the left, with Castell Dinas Bran atop the hill behind (in SJ2243) and the beginning of the main Eglwyseg Edge just poking above the hillside (centre). A view over the Llangollen valley just west of this point is shown in SJ2442 : View from ascent near Trevor Rocks
