The Great Marquess 61994 passing Dalgety Bay
It's wonderful how both the old and young are still fascinated by the iron horse. A good turnout on both the morning and afternoon runs to witness the sight and sound of steam locomotion.

The SRPS 'Forth Circle Steam Special' passes through Dalgety Bay as she heads up the incline from Inverkeithing. The locomotive is a Gresley K4 2-6-0 steam engine No.61994 'The Great Marquess' on her way to Aberdour. LinkExternal link (Archive LinkExternal link ) .

The last time the Great Marquess passed through Dalgety Bay was in 2008 LinkExternal link (Archive LinkExternal link )

Steam lives however... The Tornado, seen here at Inverkeithing on her first visit to Scotland LinkExternal link (Archive LinkExternal link ) is the first steam locomotive to be built in Britain for almost fifty years. LNER Peppercorn Class A1 Pacific 60163. Don't confuse the number with 60103 which belongs to its famous older sibling the LNER Peppercorn Class A3 Pacific famous Flying Scotsman.
