Waddon House
Waddon House
Called Waddon House, it is actually a late C17 manor house, and a very fine one, being grade I listed. Originally a much larger house built on an E shape plan, this surviving west wing of c.1700 now forms part of a U shape building, whose hidden north and east ranges are the oldest parts. Arguably however, the west wing is the more beautiful, which has lovely late C17 or early C18 work inside, with exquisite panelling and mouldings. The house is now owned by Mr & Mrs Chaffyn-Grove, a descendant of the original family who built it.
