This ex-Midland Railway Johnson Class 1F is nearly 130-years-old. 41708 was built at Derby Works in 1880. It was originally finished in Johnson’s ornate Midland crimson lake livery had a 'half cab', but was converted to 'full' in 1985/86. The LMS painted them all into plain black. It weighs 39 tons 11 cwt. 185 were built.
