NY2801 : A mine entrance on Tilberthwaite High Fells
4 km from Little Langdale, Cumbria, Great Britain

A mine entrance on Tilberthwaite High Fells
A big platform of spoil outside here hints that the mine was actively exploited for a good few years. It's located under Long Crag and probably the extracted ore was taken down the mountain side to the Greenburn Mine and workings which are now under the care of the National Trust. This is probably the most interesting and best preserved copper mining site in Cumbria.
