Scenery to fascinate you
Not just a pretty view but full of interest. Stone walls are still standing but are they needed now? What would be growing here if sheep had not grazed here for at least a couple of millennia? Perhaps more lovely deciduous woodland as seen in the valley below. Pine plantations are seen here on less fertile land, thankfully not too extensive or boring. An actively worked slate quarry shows up from this high perch but it's well hidden from view if you walk on the paths near it.
The Howgill Fells are visible on the far horizon.
