Unfortunate planting
Unfortunate planting
It's easy to put a tree in the ground but it might not grow. There were many of these tree protectors near the footpath and they were as ugly as litter. Sadly the trees inside were mostly dead and I wished the people who wanted more trees here had waited for the natural regeneration which inevitably happens.
Of course people were appalled when many trees were blown down by an exceptional gale on this hillside and wanted to replace what was lost. Now I hope they will enhance the surroundings by removing the empty tree protectors.
