Inscription reads - "Catherine McDougall 1890-1950"
Presumably the group of Beech trees here were planted about the same time - 1950.
The memorial bears a second date; 1932 - 1950 when Catherine McDougall was Secretary of the Ryedale Branch of the Campaign to Protect Rural England - whose motif also appears on the memorial.
