Moorland below Mickle Fell

The view from a relatively dry and grassy area in the vicinity of Greenmines Shop. In the middle distance is the point where the River Tees (which can just be seen) passes between Cronkley Fell (right) and Widdybank Fell (left). In the distance is Chapel Fell on the Tees/Wear watershed. The area is part of the Moor House / Upper Teesdale National Nature Reserve. It is also within the MOD's Warcop Training Area - there was no live firing over the Easter weekend - and also managed as a grouse moor.
