Primroses on Brog Street
A small field on the East side of Brog Street, covered with primroses and daffodils. Brog Street is the old, narrow, twisting little road on the other side of the holly hedge on the left of the picture, marked on an inclosure map dated 1813, well before the busy A31 and the now-disused railway. Opposite the holly hedge is 'Glendon' a late Regency collection of buildings built about 1812, forming a proposed conservation area. The name Brog Street might mean 'a Roman road near a brook'.
