SS7249 : Glen Lyn Gorge Rainbow

Glen Lyn Gorge Rainbow
The Glen Lyn Gorge is a beautiful valley which brings the West Lyn River down a deep ravine to Lynmouth. It was flood waters that came hurtling down this valley on the 15/16th August 1952 which brought death and destruction to the little town (see other photos for more information).
Next to the river here is a small hydroelectric power station with various displays and features demonstrating the power of water. At this point there are water jets that can be fired across the little river, these jets cause a mist, which as the sun catches the droplets produces bright rainbows such as the one captured here.
