The A861
The A861
The A861. This road was only pushed through from Kinlochailort to Glen Uig and Kinlochmoidart in the 1960's making this area one of the last, if not the last, be connected to the rest of the road system of Britain. Until then this area along the south shore of Loch Ailort was served by a pony track or from the sea. Glen Uig survived but road less Ardnish on the north shore didn't, with the last resident leaving Peanmeanach in 1970 or there abouts. That house is now bothy. abouts. The house is now a bothy.
