SH3390 : View westwards towards the Castell Crwn earthworks
near to Llanfairynghornwy, Isle of Anglesey/Sir Ynys Mon, Great Britain

View westwards towards the Castell Crwn earthworks
Castell Crwn (=round castle) is possibly a medieval earthworks. It is unlikely to be, as was suggested by 18th and 19thC antiquarians, the remains of a Viking or Danish fort. The church and rectory at Llanfairynghornwy can be seen in the middle ground with Castell Farm on the slopes of Mynydd y Garn forming the background.
