A rather indistinct farm track leads to one of Cumbria's most beautiful and hidden gems. Shank Wood (SSSI) Site of Special Scientific Interest, and the river Lyne gorge. Imagine my surprise one day while studying an OS map and deciding to venture down on my bike and finding this amazingly beautiful hidden spot.
