Hume Castle Indicator
This indicator, located within the remains of Hume Castle at the southwest corner of the building, was erected by the Berwickshire Naturalist’s Club. The top plate is inscribed:-
SET UP IN 1931 BY THE
BERWICKSHIRE NATURALIST’S CLUB
TO CELEBRATE ITS CENTENARY
Around the edge of the top plate is inscribed:-
I HAVE TAUGHT MYSELF TO TAKE NOTE OF AND PLEASURE IN THOSE WORKS WITH WHICH THE CREATOR HAS CROWDED AND ADORNED THE PATHS I DAILY WALK
