The Covenanter's Stone on Duns Law
The Covenanter's Stone on Duns Law
The stone within a timber fence enclosure and protected by a metal grid, is where a Scottish army under General Leslie reputedly raised the standard of the National Covenant in 1639. The cairn behind has a plaque which is inscribed:-

THIS CAIRN COMMEMORATES
THE ENCAMPMENT HERE
OF THE COVENANTERS UNDER
GENERAL SIR ALEXANDER LESLIE
1639
