NN4120 : High moors of Inverlochlarig Glen
3 km from Inverlochlarig, Stirling, Great Britain

High moors of Inverlochlarig Glen
Sheep and deer come high up the sides of this glen which is probably a natural wilderness but down in the glen there would be many trees if people hadn't cut them down and sheep or deer hadn't eaten new seedlings. Don't blame modern farmers: archeologists think that people destroyed woodlands here in neolithic times. Others have followed in their footsteps.
In the background are lush meadows supporting sheep and cattle in the valley bottom and plenty of conifers have flourished on lower slopes.
