NN4117 : Fences, old and new

taken 15 years ago, 3 km from Inverlochlarig, Stirling, Scotland

Fences, old and new
Fences, old and new
Left to right there's a normal post and wire sheep fence and a later addition of higher wire to keep out deer.
From the photographer's stance there are remains of a much older older field boundary going down towards the riverside meadow. Perhaps this was built in the middle ages or the bronze age, who knows?
Across the valley is a lateral moraine which formed along the side of a glacier.
