SH6628 : Bwlch Drws Ardudwy

Bwlch Drws Ardudwy
The cairn is perched on a mound at the height of Bwlch Drws Ardudwy, literally the pass at the door to Ardudwy, the coastal headland framed by the Rhinogydd in the east and the Dwyryd and Mawddach estuaries in the north and south. Even today, the Rhinogydd are a sizeable barrier to traffic, and the only roads into Ardudwy bypass the mountains and follow the estuaries. The only two low-level passes carry two ancient routes on either side of Rhinog Fawr: Bwlch Drws Ardudwy and Bwlch Tyddiad. The view here is westward into Ardudwy.
