The highest point on a canal is called its Summit Level; this is the Grand Union Canal's Summit Level as it travels a secluded, wooded route to the east of Tring. Water is supplied to this section of canal from four reservoirs built for the purpose : SP9213 : Marsworth Reservoir SP9213 : Startopsend Reservoir SP9113 : Tringford Reservoir & SP9013 : Wilstone Reservoir
