SH6527 : Cwm Hosan

near to Rhinog Fach [hill or Mountain], Gwynedd, Great Britain

Cwm Hosan
Cwm Hosan
A stream runs steeply off Rhinog Fach to merge with the Afon Cwmnantcol at Bwlch Drws Ardudwy. There is a small glacial lake above (out of sight) the step seen opposite. Cwm Hosan appears to be a hanging valley, originating from a minor glacier whose base was cut off by a larger glacier flowing westward through what is now Bwlch Drws Ardudwy.
