Plate on the viewpoint indicator at East Mount Lowther
Lines of sight from Auchenlone/East Mount Lowther. On a clear day it is possible to see the Paps of Jura from here. The viewpoint indicator was erected in the 1940s by children of the youth club at Wanlockhead. A certain degree of wartime making do was necessary, and the construction of the pillar is "interesting".
