Fiddleford Manor House
This is the restored late C14 section of the original much larger manor house built by John Latimer, Sheriff of Somerset and Dorset, that is now in the care of English Heritage. The remainder extending to the north is a C16 rebuild by the White family, and is privately owned. The stunning 600 year old timber roofs of the hall and solar are a testimony to the skill and craftsmanship of the medieval carpenters, and considered to be 'of outstanding importance' by the RCHM. Grade I listed.
