Sheep grazing the grouse moor
Sheep grazing the grouse moor
This is a well maintained moor and there is a good range of ages of heather, this is achieved by burning the heather in random areas, this can be seen in the distance of this photo. The burning gets rid of the old woody heather, which is of little use to either grouse or sheep, and encourages the growth of young shoots.
