A standing stone on Largs Promenade
Because there were some plastic thistles resting against the far side of this stone, I'd guess that this marks the site of the Battle of Largs. It is said that the Viking invaders made such a noise when they trod on thistles during a night raid that the raid was unsuccessful and the thistle was adopted as Scotland's emblem.
