Ford Lock One
Point where the barge canal section of the Portsmouth to Arundel Canal joined the River Arun. The remains here are the base of the first lock chamber from the tidal River Arun. The large square stone is the bottom quoin stone in which the lock gates pivot.The first lock gate position is under the river flood bank.
