Bowness Common
Bowness Common
This is near the western edge of the common near the hamlet of Cardurnock. The low-lying peat bog is one of the three separate sites that constitute the South Solway Mosses National Nature Reserve. Here we see heather and cottongrass growing amongst the vegetation on rough terrain.
