Back passage between 267-299 Hawthorn Avenue (on the left) and 1-27 Saltburn Street, looking north towards the Shipham Valves factory from the back of No.295 Hawthorn Ave. Most of the houses on Saltburn Street have been recently vacated and many of those on Hawthorn Avenue are still occupied, although the back doors and windows are boarded up to give them some protection against vandalism which is rife in this area.
