Archaeological dig, Brampton Lodge, Brampton, Cambs
One of several trial trenches along the new offline A14 route between Ellington and Fen Drayton. The reddish (palaeoargillic) subsoils over gravels indicate soil formation in a climate warmer than today's, i.e. the Ipswichian Interglacial.
