War memorial and Bredgar House
War memorial and Bredgar House
Looking east from Gore Road. The concrete truncated cones by the war memorial are wartime tank traps. Bredgar House was purchased in 1867 by a wholesale ironmonger and brassfounder from London called Comyn Ching who had such a large family he raised the roof and added a third storey to house them all. His company, which supplied the railings for London's Royal parks, is still going strong with a Comyn Ching at the helm.
