Excavations at Kingsdale Head
The Ingleborough Archaeology Group is engaged in an investigation of a multi-period site in Kingsdale. A Norse longhouse has been found but also evidence of a Mesolithic fire pit (dated to 6670 BC) and chert knapping. Many pot sherds of medieval origin have also been found.
