Old hedge south of Kexbrough
A line of hawthorns, with an attendant ash tree, mark the line of a former hedge which has been allowed to grow out of any effectiveness as a boundary. However these hawthorns will carry far more berries for wintering thrushes and other creatures than the annually-tonsured hedges one usually sees.
