Limestone Pavement at Runscar Scar, Ribblehead.
Limestone Pavement at Runscar Scar, Ribblehead.
The flat limestone surface has been deeply dissected by centuries of running water. The deep gaps (clints and grikes) are about three or four feet deep. Ribblehead Viaduct is clearly visible and the hill in the distance is Ingleborough.
