SH6215 : Mawddach estuary
near to Barmouth, Gwynedd, Great Britain

Mawddach estuary
Taken at 1802 from Barmouth bridge, the shadow of which can be seen to the right. Low water was at 1715 and the sand banks are visible. In the centre distance are the crags of Tyrrau Mawr (SH6713) and Cadair Idris beyond. To the left are fresh scars at Ty'n y Coed slate quarry, which was closed for many years but is now being worked for shale for hardcore.
