New and old tracks
New and old tracks
The new track made with concrete and the old one seen here in a deep groove link Abbey Farm with the "main" road. Apparently tarred road surfaces get damaged by cattle deposits and so farmers prefer to have concrete despite its less attractive colour!
Abbey farm presumably belonged to the monks of the priory, the ruins of which are partly visible in between trees right of centre, down near the valley bottom. To find out more about this see LinkExternal link
