Kink in the wall

I had a theory about this unusual kink in the wall here. An earlier boundary wall went straight on in the direction of the wall on the right and a green stripe on the landscape remains there today. However there were occasional streams springing out in places and they undermined the old wall and the kink leftwards was made when the wall was repaired, also enclosing extra land at the same time. Aerial photos of this square show various "tidemarks" of former enclosed land which give useful clues to archeologists.
