St Thomasís Church, Parkgate
St Thomasís Church, Parkgate
Built in 1843, St. Thomasís in Mostyn Square is a Grade II listed sandstone church in the Parkgate Conservation Area ensuring the charm of the old port and village is safeguarded. Traditional associations with the fishing community have led to St Thomasís being known, affectionately, as the ĎFishermanís Churchí. For more than ten years the Bishop's Trust, with help from a joint English Heritage and Heritage Lottery Fund grant of £40,000, has been working to restore and renovate the building, both as a focal point for village activities and a place of worship.
