Smiddyseat: Hillhead Chain Radar Station
This large structure is the bunker housing the main transmitter equipment for the old radar at Hillhead. The structure is a brick building surrounded by a massive concrete roof and blast walls. The large hole has been made by the local farmer so as to turn the building into a store. The site was one of many that protected the whole of the East coast during the second world war.
