Undoubtedly, Skomer's most famous seasonal resident - the puffin, sometimes nicknamed the "Pembrokeshire Penguin" can be seen on the island from April to mid-late June - but most would agree that the last few days of May are the best time to see these animated characters - just after the chicks have hatched in their burrows.
